Advice for Female Seekers of the Spiritual Path

The 16th-century Sufi Saint, Khwāja Bāqī Billah, known for his profound spiritual wisdom, played a pivotal role in shaping the Naqshbandi Sufi order in India. He implemented religious and spiritual guidance within the order through his blessings and teachings. He gave the following advice to the women who were seeking guidance:

Felicity entirely lies in obeying the commands of Allah. Follow the Sunna of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, safeguard yourself from reprehensible talk, do not treat anyone harshly or dishearten them, do not think negatively of any Muslim, let not your attention be upon wealth and worldly possessions, do not consider yourself to be better than anyone else, and do not forget the journey to the Hereafter. Once you have attained these traits, if God favours you and grants you the ability, then recite the litany La ilaha illa Allah continually and quietly. Have presence of heart and complete focus while reciting the litany and remove your attention from the world and worldly people. With this, you will achieve the most excellent and beneficial outcome.
